Looking for inspiration? See how Claire-Ann has had fun raising money for life-saving research.
Claire-Ann, from Edinburgh, was just 34 when she was diagnosed with breast cancer.
During her treatment she took part in the Persephone clinical trial, which meant going on the drug Herceptin for 12 months to help prevent her cancer returning. Our scientists laid the groundwork for Herceptin back in 1987 as a new targeted drug to treat breast cancer.
Claire-Ann marked her recovery by jetting off to New Zealand where she completed her first skydive. She says:
“Thanks to research, some amazing doctors, and support from friends and family – I’m healthy, loving life and still here to give something back.”
As part of giving back, Claire-Ann’s been busy doing her own fundraising. She says: “I’ve done a band night and bakesales, and one of my friends even had his back waxed to raise money too!”
Thanks to Claire-Ann and fundraisers like you, together we are beating cancer
