Fundraising as a team

Create a team

The best way to fundraise with other people is to set up a Team Page. Everyone will have their own Giving Page, but you can see the total amount you've raised together on the Team Page.

To set up a Team, first log into your account.

Once you’re logged in, scroll down to the 'Your Team Pages' section and tap the 'Create new team' button and follow the instructions.

Once you've created your team, you can send the Team Page URL to your friends so they can join!

Instead of linking separate Giving Pages to a Team Page, you can use one Giving Page to represent a whole team.

You can edit the Giving Page title and the Display name (name of the page creator near the top of the Giving Page) to include the names of several team members. Please note there is a 200 character limit.

Advantages

  • This is an easy way to create teams within teams. Each Giving Page representing a team can be joined to other Giving Pages to form a larger team.
  • If you prefer to delegate the actions of creating, editing and sharing the Giving Page to one team member, this is easier when there is only one Giving Page for the team.

Disadvantages

  • You cannot use the leaderboard functionality (only available on Team Pages) to create friendly competition between the team members.
  • You can only link one Strava and one Fitbit account to a Giving Page. If three or more of you are taking part, not everyone will be able to show their stats on the page.
  • Only one person can log into the page to make changes.
  • Personalised pages raise more. If you and the other team members have different stories to tell, it might be better to have individual pages.

Join or invite people to a team

To join a team, you'll need to go to the Team Page. One of your team members can send you the URL or you can search for your Team Page.

Once you're on the Team Page, tap the 'Join team' button in the Team Members section of the page.

Please note, you will need to create a new Giving Page or use an existing Giving Page (that is not already linked to another Team Page) in order to be added to the team.

To add someone to your team, the person will need to have their own account and Giving Page.

If they already have a Giving Page, you can send the URL of your Team Page to the person you want to add, and they can then tap the 'Join team' button in the Team Members section of the page.

If they don't already have a Giving Page, send the URL of your Team Page to the person you want to add. They can then tap the 'Join team' button and follow the instructions. They'll be asked to set up their own account and Giving Page, and then will be added to your team!

Leave or remove people from a team

You must be logged in to leave a team. Navigate to ‘Your dashboard’ by tapping on your initial in the top right-hand corner.

Scroll down to ‘Your Team Pages’ and tap on the ‘Leave team’ button. This will unlink your Giving Page from that Team Page. Please note, all of your donations and updates will disappear from the Team Page when you leave.

If you are the team leader, you'll be directed to a screen where you must choose a new team leader before you can leave the team.

If you are the only member of a team and leave the team, the Team Page will be deleted.

You must be the team leader to remove a team member. Log into your account and navigate to the Team Page.

Once you’re on the Team Page, tap on ‘Page Settings’ and then tap ‘Edit team members’. From here you can remove team members.

Please note, once you have removed a team member, they won’t be able to rejoin the team with that Giving Page.

If you want to invite someone to rejoin your team after you have removed them, they will either need to use a different Giving Page or the team leader must phone us on 0300 123 4452.

A less permanent option is to ask the person to leave the team from their dashboard. This means they will be able to join the team with the same Giving Page in future.
