About Shine Night Walk Glasgow
Shine Night Walk is your chance to light up Glasgow’s streets and support life-saving research. Around Kelvingrove Park, past the Duke of Wellington Statue and over the Millennium Bridge, you’ll walk past Glasgow's iconic landmarks before ending with a finish line celebration.
Walk solo and meet friends along the way, or sign up as a group and walk together.
With Shine Night Walk you can choose to fundraise for a cancer cause close to your heart, or simply where the need is greatest.

The route
The Shine Night Walk in Glasgow takes you through the heart of the city past some of the city's most iconic landmarks.
Depending on your pace, the 10k route will take between 1.5 - 3 hours.

Over the last 40 years our work has helped double breast cancer survival, supported the development of radiotherapy and played a role in developing 8 of the world’s top 10 cancer drugs.

How fundraising helps Glasgow
Glasgow is home to our world-renowned Scotland Institute where our work spans the whole spectrum of cancer research, from investigating the molecular basis of cancer to developing new treatments.
Cancer Research UK spent over £23m in 2022/23.

- We’re developing a blood test to detect pancreatic cancer.
- Personalising medicine for people with bowel cancer.
- We’re making treatments better for children with leukaemia.

Fundraising support
We’re here to help you kickstart your fundraising and smash your target. We recommend a fundraising goal of £150 for 10K walkers and £260 for half and full marathon walkers, but no matter how much you raise, your fundraising powers our progress.
