About our partnership

Our incredible partnership with TK Maxx began in 2004 and has raised over £49.5m for Cancer Research UK of which over £45m has helped fund life-saving research into children’s and young people’s cancers. TK Maxx is our biggest corporate supporter in this area of research and its support over the years is fuelling discoveries that are helping change the lives of children and young people with cancer.

Highlights through the years

TK Maxx have supported a number of strategic research projects into children’s and young people’s cancers:

  • In 2014 to mark the partnership's 10th anniversary, TK Maxx fully supported the UK arm of an international clinical trial that aims to improve the diagnosis and treatment for children and young people with ependymoma – a rare type of brain tumour for which new treatments with fewer side effects are urgently needed.
  • In 2019 to celebrate the 15th year of our partnership, TK Maxx committed to supporting the Cancer Research UK Children’s Brain Tumour Centre of Excellence.  TK Maxx also won two awards recognising the achievements of the partnership with Cancer Research UK: the Retail Systems Award for Retail Charity Partnership of the Year and the Charity Times Award for Corporate National Partnership of the Year with a Retailer.
  • In 2020 TK Maxx won again the Charity Times Award for Corporate National Partnership of the Year with a Retailer and the Better Society Award for Partnership with a Children’s Charity.
  • In 2022 TJX won the Better Society Award for Partnership with a Children’s Charity.

We are incredibly proud of our partnership with Cancer Research UK which is now in its 20th year. Our associates and customers have shown amazing commitment over the years, raising almost £49.5m for this fantastic charity. Supporting communities by helping vulnerable families and young children is at the heart of TJX’s mission.
